About Chapter

Although Buffalo is chapter 012, the roots of the organization now known as the Institute of Management Accountants (IMA) was founded in Buffalo, N.Y. in 1919 as the National Association of Cost Accountants (NACA).  The organization was founded to promote knowledge and professionalism among cost accountants and foster a wider understanding of their role in management.

As the name now signifies, the chapter and organization as a whole, understands and promotes the broader and ever changing role of accountants and finance professionals across the world.

The Buffalo Chapter is here to not only promote the profession, but aid its members.  Feel free to contact any of the board members should you have questions or feedback on how we can improve events, promote/foster communication, or anything else you would like to discuss.

We look forward to serving you not only in the upcoming program year, but in the future as well.
